About this event
During her presentation, Dr. Florencia Montagnini will discuss why she is working with the Yale School of the Environment to promote agroforestry systems—farming approaches that incorporate trees into agricultural landscapes. She will explain why agroforestry is gaining global relevance as a sustainable land-use alternative that can help mitigate and adapt to climate change, while also acting as a “biodiversity island.” Dr. Montagnini will also explore how emerging financial tools—such as Voluntary Biodiversity Credits—can be used to support agroforestry initiatives, and why private companies and other stakeholders are increasingly investing in these systems to help meet their sustainability goals.
This program is co-sponsored with Shoreline Village CT and is free and open to all. Please register: https://guilfordfreelibrary.org/upcoming-events/
