About this event
This walk, sponsored by the Guilford Preservation Alliance, is a wonderful opportunity to discover 386 years of Guilford’s fascinating history since its founding in 1639. The history of the Town Green and many of the surrounding homes and businesses is highlighted. Learn about the Native Americans, New England slavery, how Guilford is connected to the saving of the Connecticut Charter (1687), the Salem Witch Trials (1692), and the Statue of Liberty (1886). Other entertaining historical stories are added, making for a memorable and entertaining morning.
Dave and Debbie Meeker are leading the tour. Debbie is descended from 9 Signers of the Guilford Covenant. They enjoy sharing stories that include family history and other stories about the early residents of Guilford, and they love to hear your stories. Questions?
